Butterflies Everywhere!

Butterflies are everywhere since this stamp and die set arrived from PTI.  Thanks to my card making buddy Barbara, we discovered that this set of tools can make a gorgeous shaker card! This is must one of several I made in the past few days.  The patterned paper is from Basic Grey and the vellum overlay of the butterfly sets it off perfectly.  The sentiment and die are PTI's Initial thoughts.  The card below is the same idea but a different look. Again, the vellum overlay of a butterfly sets off the
shaker perfectly.

Make It Monday #169

For several months I've had this darling dotted Swiss vellum in my stash in pink, green, and aqua and I didn't come up with an idea on how to show it off until today's PTI Challenge, about using vellum in a card.  I heat embossed the pieces of vellum with white, fussy cut them and attached them with teensy dots of Glossy Accents, which worked perfectly.  I was also prepared to use a new roll of 3M clear mounting tape which I think would also be really handy for working with vellum, but the card came together without it.

Paper: PTI Select White, hibiscus burst patterned paper
Stamps:  PTI Year of Flowers Rose, Everyday Happiness
Die:  PTI Journal Card 2
Dotted Swiss Vellum: purchased at Checkered Cottage in St. Louis

Make it Monday #168

Well I didn't have any chalk, so time to get out my gelatos with their sponge applicator.  This is only the second or third time I've tried them and the effect was great!  I found this impression plate that I had never used and when I sponged the impression the gelatos I was so happy with all the wonderful words of encouragement that showed up that I only had the heart to stamp one third of the card with Flowers.  I added a tiny bit of bling but didn't want it to take away from this lovely message.

Paper: PTI Aqua Mist and Stampers Select White
Inks: Hibiscus Burst, Aqua Mist, Orange Zest, RasberryFizz

Make It Monday #167

This week's Make It Monday was a nifty idea - make a small notebook!  What a clever way to use scraps of cardstock!
